The Stags Trophy final will be between Castle Royle and The Springs. The final is held over two legs. The details are:

Second leg - Castle Royle Saturday 28th September

Winners of the SE division are Sunningdale Heath. They played the NW division runners-up Burford. Burford won 3.5-2.5

7-Jan-2024 - 2024 Update

This year we will have 12 member clubs. We have lost Sand Martins, but welcome back Henley. Burford have entered the league for the first time.

The league will be run in two six-team divisions this year; South East and North West. The top two in each division will play off to reach the final (winner of South East will play 2nd in North West and winner of North West will play 2nd in South East). The division winners will have home advantage. The semi-final winners will play the final at a neutral venue (provisionally Sunningdale Heath)

All divisional games to be played by end of June. Play-off semis will be held in late July and the finals day in August.

The Stags Trophy welcomes the same 16 participants as last year, with the exception of Burford replacing Sand Martins. The draw has been made and is on the Stags Trophy page.

The TVJGL will host the BB&O Bert Yates Trophy and will enter the Welham Weston. Both will take place in the October half-term holiday..

The Golfer of the Year tournament will be hosted by East Berks and the summer open medals are planned to go ahead.

26-Sep-2023 - Harewood Downs win the Stags Final

Harewood Downs beat Frilford Heath in a two-legged final. Harewood Downs won their home leg 3.5-2.5 and the second leg at Frilford Heath was tied 3-3. Harewood Downs therefore won the overall match by 6.5-5.5 and lifted the trophy for the first time.

27-Aug-2023 - The Sunningdale Heath win the League

The league finals were held at Calcot Park today. Sunningdale Heath and The Caversham were tied at 2.5-2.5 and the result was decided on holes-up, with Sunningdale Heath winning by 8 holes-up to The Caversham's 6. Bearwood Lakes finished 3rd.

13-Jul-2023 - The divisional fixtures are complete

Winners of the SE division are Sunningdale Heath. They played the NW division runners-up Calcot Park on Sunday 23rd July. The result was Sunningdale Heath won on holes up, after a drawn match.

Winners of the NW division are Reading. They played the SE division runners-up Bearwood Lakes on Friday 28th July. The result was Reading won on holes up after a drawn match.

The finals Day will be announced shortly.

10-Oct-2022 - Calcot Park win the League Final

Calcot Park are the 2022 league winners after beating Castle Royle in the league final, held at Goring & Streatley today. Well done to Calcot Park and thank you to Goring for hosting the event.

19-Sep-2022 - Camberley Heath win the Stags Final

Camberley Heath beat Harewood Downs in a close final. Both teams were tied 6-6 after the two legs and Camberley Heath won the trophy by 3 holes up, when all the 12 match scores were calculated.

29-Sep-2021 - Player of the Year

Following the league play-off finals day, the Player of the Year was decided. This year's winner was Sophia Vysata of Maidenhead G.C. Joseph Lawton of East Berks was second, Drew Rolf of Calcot Park was third and Luca Crooks of Castle Royle was forth.

29-Sep-2021 - The 2021 League Play-off Final

The first league play-off final was won by Maidenhead, beating Calcot Park 4-1. Henley finished 3rd. Thank you to Henley for hosting the finals day and to the Henley Captain for presenting the league shield to the winners. Maidenhead will now represent the league in the Bert Yates Trophy, which is contested by the winners of the four junior leagues in the BB&O.

20-Sep-2021 - North Hants win the Stags final

North Hants beat Castle Royle in a closely contected final. The first leg at North Hants was tied 3-3, with North Hants winning 4-2 in the second leg at Castle Royle.

2-June-2021 - Golfer of the Year Tournament 2021

The TVJGL member clubs met in December and in the hope that things improve by April have decided to schedule both   the League and Stags Trophy matches for this year.

Unfortunately, Sonning have left the league due to junior numbers, but we have a new member club in Sunningdale Heath.

The league will be run in two divisions this year; South East and North West. The top two in each division will play off to reach the final (winner of South East will play 2nd in North West and winner of North West will play 2nd in South East). The division winners will have home advantage. All four teams will play in Finals Day at a neutral venue (Final and 3rd/4th place play off)

All divisional games to be played by 31-Jul-2021

The Stags Trophy will proceed with the 2020 draw (see below for details)

The TVJGL will not enter the Welham Weston inter-league competition, as it is too early in the year to plan given the current situation. We hope that the John Jolley (League winners) will go ahead in October.

The Golfer of the Year tournament and the summer open medals are planned to go ahead.

18-Mar-2020 - 2020 League and Stags Trophy Cancelled

The TVJGL has decided to cancel both the League and Stags Trophy for this year. The decision was based on the fact that even if the government allows us to continue playing through the summer, some clubs have already announced cancellation of all organised fixtures and all golf except casual golf and we can’t proceed with different policies across our membership.  Even if things improve and organised golf can be safely played later in the year, there will be insufficient time to complete either schedule.

We have also pulled out of the inter-league competitions (Welham Weston and Bert Yates).

The Golfer of the Year tournament and the summer open medals will be reviewed at the end of June

I hope the position improves for next year and it is safe to play fixtures in 2021

The 2018 league went down to the final match between Calcot and Newbury. Winner takes all. On the third attemt, after two deluges caused postponemnts, Newbury won 3-2 away, to secure their first league title since 1991. Well done to all involved.

23-Apr-2018 - John Jolly 2018

The John Jolly was contested yesterday between the 2017 league winners Calcot Park and a representative side from the rest of the league, comprising teams from Castle Royle, Frilford Heath, Sonning and Maidenhead. 

4 x 4ball betterball matches were played with Calcot Park running out winners by 3 matches to one. All the boys and girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves on a glorious April afternoon.

23-Sep-2017 - Frilford win the Stags Trophy

In a very close final, Frilford Heath won the Stags trophy, by drawing their away leg 3-3 with North Hants, resulting in a 6.5 to 5.5 victory. The match could have gone either way and was looking to be heading for a tie, but Frilford won the key match on the final hole to secure the trophy.

31-Oct-2016 Calcot Park Retain the Stags Trophy:

Calcot won the Stags trophy for the second year in succession, with a victory over Newbury and Crookham. The first leg at Newbury finished 3-3 and Calcot won their home legt 5-1 to lift the trophy with an 8-4 aggregate win.

27-Oct-2016  - Maidenhead Win the League:

Well done Maidenhead on winning the league Maidenhead achieved this with a squad of only 7 juniors. In addition to winning the league, they also won all 3 prizes in the player of the year awards.

29-Mar-2016 - Calcot win the John Jolly:

Calcot won the John Jolly Challenge Trophy, beating a team from the rest of the league by 5.5 to 1.5. There were notable performances from Melan Dhaubhabel of Calcot Park recording a gross 69 playing off 4 whilst for the Representative side Fraser Brown from Maidenhead recorded a gross 71 playing off 7.

20-Sep-2015 Calcot Park Win the Stags Trophy:

A day after winning the league, Calcot did the double, turning over a 4-2 defecit in style with a 6-0 home win. The win is Calcot's first in the cup since 2007.

19-Sep-2015  - Calcot Park Win the League:

Well done Calcot on winning the league and remaining unbeaten throughout the 2015 season. Their star player, Connor Ross, has won the player of the year award with a 100% record of 6 wins from 6 matches. Calcot will now represent the TVJGL in the Home Nations Championships and the Bert Yates Trophy.

7-Sep-2014 - Tom Stearn is Player of the Year

With all of the 2014 matches played, Tom Stearn of Maidenhead GC has been confirmed as Player of the Year. Tom won six of his matches, halving the seventh. The full Player of the Year table can be seen through the menus on the left.

6-Sep-2014 - East Berks win the League

After one of the closest finishes, East Berks won the league trophy from runners-up  Maidenhead. Both clubs finished on 12 points, but East Berks won 30 individual matches, compared to Maidenhead's 29.5. East Berks will go on to represent the TVJGL in the Bert Yates Trophy and the Junior Team Golf Home internationals, with Maidenhead representing the league in the Welham Weston. 28-Aug-2014 - East Berks win the main prizes at Golfer of the Year.

East Berks cleaned-up on the prizes at the annual Golfer of the Year tournament hosted at Maidenhead GC, winning the team shield and Lewis Bird winning both the individual scratch and handicap cups with a gross 70, nett 66. Full details of all prize winners are on the Golfer of The Year page
