The Stags Trophy

The Stags Trophy is an annual knockout competition. The junior teams from the twelve TVJGL league clubs are joined by junior teams from Harewood Downs, Camberley Heath,  Frilford Heath and North Hants. The competition runs in parallel with the league, during March to October.

Each match contains six singles games, each of which is played to the 18th hole. In the event of a 3-3 result, the team with the most holes up wins the match and progresses to the next round. In the unlikely event of two competing teams being level on ‘holes up’, the match will be decided by the No.1 player in each team playing sudden death, starting at the 1st hole.

Each round is played either home or away, except for the final, which is played over two legs, one at each finalist’s home course.

The 2025 final was contested between the cup holders Castle Royle and Horth Hants. North Hants won the two-legged match 8-4 and lifted the trophy for the second time in the past five years.
